WOW!

I thought Hyatt was a world-class hotel operator.
They are.
And yet, they have Third party operators. this is Big!

What this means is this.
Get a good team of hotel managers together, go to one of the big guys and start managing the properties for them.
What's in it for them? They need to concentrate only on the brand. You do the operations.

So how is this different from a simple franchisee program? Its not. its just that becoming a preferred hotel operator, would increase your chances many fold to take on new projects.

Govt plans sops to promote budget hotels

In order to encourage building budget hotels, the tourism ministry will grant capital subsidy to new one-, two-, three-star and heritage hotels.

Under the capital subsidy scheme, the incentive for a new one-star hotel is Rs 2 lakh per room, subject to a cap of Rs 30 lakh. For a two-star facility, the hotelier will get Rs 3 lakh per room, subject to a cap of Rs 75 lakh, while for a three-star hotel, the amount is Rs 3 lakh per room, subject to a cap of Rs 100 lakh. The scheme will also apply to heritage hotels built before 1950.

    Hilly hospitality may cost less

    Buying hotel and resort properties located in hill stations after Budget 2007 could turn out to be a good investment avenue. The Centre is considering a no-tax regime for 10 years for hospitality projects in hilly states that include Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh. Also, hilly states have been asked to reduce stamp duty on purchase of land to promote the hospitality sector.

    Davidson Hotel Company (DHC), one of the America's largest hotel management companies, today announced that it had become one of the first independent management companies to receive the new designation of 'Preferred Operator' by Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Davidson will be one of only a handful of top-tier hotel operators to receive the designation, which will be required to become a third-party operator of Hyatt properties.
