DESIGN| Next generation no-frills hotel
A new hotel brand just opened its doors at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. citizenM (the M is for mobile) is targeting guests who view design as a given, need rooms that are comfortable and efficient, but can't or don't want to spend big for a night's sleep.

What are Bloxes?
Bloxes are building blocks made of interlocking pieces of corrugated cardboard, folded together. Their unique shape and structure make them exceptionally strong and lightweight — you could build yourself a platform to stand on, and then pick it up and move it wherever you need to.
Editor| I have always wondered what creative banquet managers would be able to achieve if they could get their hands on something that could alter the shape, look and feel of a space, as & when they require.

I have always believed some Ideas change the landscape of the very arena we compete in, and then there are some that seem just so simple and effective, we wonder why we didnt think of it....here's one and there will be more....
To add ambiance to a restaurant, bar or other area of a hotel, sometimes all that's needed is a little candlelight. Whether fueled by wax and wick or liquid fuel, candles encourage a relaxing, stress-free atmosphere. As common and accepted as traditional candles are, few hoteliers may realize their true costs-from both a financial and environmental perspective.
