Accor, which currently operates 36 hotels in Thailand, is planning to add another 12 hotels to its portfolio by early 2010. By early 2009, Accor (which opened its first hotel in Thailand in 1988) will add at least 4 more Ibis hotels in key destinations such as Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Samui.

Accor signed a management agreement with Chengdu Qianhe real estate for the Pullman Chengdu Zitan Hotel, recently. This follows the launch of the Pullman brand in Europe last December, which saw ten Pullman hotels debut in France, Germany and Belgium. In Asia, the brand was introduced at the beginning of 2008 with the opening of the Pullman Bangkok King Power, the first Pullman hotel in Asia.

New upscale brand targets 100 hotels in Asia Pacific by 2015
