Hilton Hotels Corporation today announced that the Rome Cavalieri Hilton, the preferred hotel for global travellers to the Eternal City and the hub for Rome’s society set, will become the first European property to join The Waldorf=Astoria Collection.
The Waldorf=Astoria Collection is a collection of what the Hilton Hotels Corporation considers to be its premiere, most luxurious and most identifiable boutique hotels and resorts.
In January 2006, Hilton Hotels, Inc, announced it would launch a luxury brand called the Waldorf=Astoria Collection, branded after the famous Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York City, called the most powerful hotel name in the world.
Hilton Hotels declared that the new brand will create luxurious business hotels and resorts worldwide, exceeding the chain's current luxury brand, Conrad Hotels.
After four decades as Italy’s leading hotel, this is the first hotel in Europe and the sixth globally to join the luxury brand.
