The country’s oldest hotel chain Taj Group carried out a major reshuffle in top management. The change was necessitated with the departure of area director and general manager Farhat Jamal. Jamal resigned after spending three decades with Taj Group and joined as the president and chief executive officer of Bharat Hotels, which runs The Grand Hotels, Palaces and Resorts. Karambir Singh Kang has replaced Jamal. Kang was earlier general manager of Taj Lands End Hotel, Bandra. Kang has been with the Taj Group since 1991 and has 16 years of experience in sales and marketing. He holds a post-graduate degree in marketing from Symbiosis. Prior to Taj Lands End Hotel, he was the director sales, Luxury Hotels (India) and was based at the Taj Corporate office in Mumbai. Rohit Khosla, GM Taj President Hotel, will replace Kang at the Taj Lands End. Rohit is an alumni of Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai and holds a post-graduate diploma from National Council of Hotel Management.
