Taj puttin’ a casual approach on the Ritz

The general manager of Taj Boston is resetting the tone at the former Ritz-Carlton Boston to reflect the more relaxed social mores and parlance of 2007 luxury under new owner Indian Hotels Co. Ltd. of Mumbai, India.

From the floral arrangements to the dress code and the hotel staff’s interaction with guests, Gibbons is readjusting the attitude of the first Ritz, a venerable Hub institution that opened in 1927 and whose tradition-steeped history has been held dear by generations of Bostonians and visitors.
