IGI Airport witnessed high drama on Saturday night and Sunday morning when harried passengers of an Air India flight sat on dharna protesting against long delays, even as British Airways passengers had to wait 13 hours for boarding their plane to London because the pilot and cabin crew didn't have adequate sleep due to "noise" in their five-star hotel in central Delhi. The Air India flight to Bangkok and Tokyo was late by several hours due to the aircraft suffering a bird hit and the airline later deciding to merge two flights. It is learnt that the captain had trouble sleeping in the central Delhi five-star hotel where the crew had been put up. He came to the lobby to leave for the airport, thinking that other crew members would have had adequate rest. But once the entire crew assembled in the lobby, he found that all of them had faced the same problem of being unable to sleep due to noise in the hotel.
